Noah Berrie

We welcomed Noah Berrie as a resident at the studio. A London-based artist and musician, Noah explores sound as both material and metaphor. Working with feedback systems, custom instruments, and electroacoustic performance, his practice examines how resonance and space shape listening. His installations and live works often take the form of self-sounding systems, where acoustics, technology, and performance intertwine to generate new ways of relating and perceiving.

During his residency at Studio Richter Mahr, Noah began work on a new project with four other London-based string players. Using Schoeps microphones, resonating objects, and close, multi-perspective recording techniques, he set out to capture microscopic textures of material resonance. These recordings will be slowed, layered, and transposed to open a perceptual space of unstable, relational sound. The work developed at SRM will form the foundation for a multichannel installation opening in early 2026, alongside an album-length release later next year.
