We were pleased to welcome Nadia Beard, writer, critic, and pianist, as a Visiting Artist at Studio Richter Mahr. Nadia writes on the arts and current affairs, with her essays and articles featured in The New Yorker, the Financial Times, National Geographic, and the Times Literary Supplement, among others.
At the time of her residency, she was the programme director for ZEG Tbilisi Storytelling Festival and had previously served as editor-in-chief of The Calvert Journal and Moscow Correspondent for The Independent. Nadia is a graduate of University College London, the London School of Economics, and Tbilisi Conservatoire, where she studied piano with Manana Gotsiridze.
While at SRM, Nadia worked on her first book, a non-fiction title set for publication in 2026 by WW Norton (US) and Faber & Faber (UK).
