In January of 2024 Max had the pleasure of working with Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior Men’s, on the soundtrack for the label’s Autumn Winter 2024/25 fashion show in Paris. Commissioned to revisit Sergei Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Suite No.2 Op.64, Max worked closely with the designer, creative consultant Simon Parris and the Isobel Griffiths Orchestra to record and mix a new version of Prokofiev’s iconic score over a five day period at Studio Richter Mahr.
The Dior Men’s AW 24/25 collection and this recommission were inspired by the designer’s uncle, Colin Jones (1936 – 2021), a British ballet dancer turned photojournalist who photographed and was a friend of internationally renowned ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, who famously danced the role of Romeo opposite Margot Fonteyn on several occasions throughout his career. The five days of creative collaboration at Studio Richter Mahr also saw members of Dior’s crew capture content for the label’s AW 24/25 campaign.
Following the recording at Studio Richter Mahr, Max attended the fashion show, which took place on 19th January 2024 in Paris, and was able to experience the manifestation of this creative exchange with Kim, a long-time collaborator.
